ITI Electrician Trade Theory में Electrical Safety एक बहुत important topic है। Safety Precautions और Indian Electricity Rules को समझना electrician के लिए जरूरी है, क्योंकि electrical work में electric shock, short circuit, fire और equipment damage जैसी दुर्घटनाओं का खतरा हो सकता है।
इस chapter में हम Electrical Safety Rules, Safety Signs, Electric Shock में First Aid, Earthing और Indian Electricity से संबंधित important safety points को आसान Hindi और English language में समझेंगे।
1. Electrical Safety क्या है?
Electrical Safety का मतलब electrical equipment, wiring, machines और installations पर काम करते समय ऐसे precautions अपनाना है जिससे व्यक्ति और electrical equipment दोनों को नुकसान से बचाया जा सके।
Electrician को किसी भी electrical circuit पर काम करने से पहले supply को isolate करना, proper testing करना और suitable safety equipment का उपयोग करना चाहिए।
किसी भी electrical circuit को केवल switch OFF देखकर dead न मानें। काम शुरू करने से पहले suitable testing instrument से voltage की जांच करें और सुरक्षित isolation सुनिश्चित करें।
2. Safety Signs के मुख्य प्रकार
Workshop, electrical panel और industrial areas में workers को hazards और safety instructions बताने के लिए अलग-अलग Safety Signs का उपयोग किया जाता है।
Prohibition Signs
Prohibition Signs बताते हैं कि कौन सा काम नहीं करना चाहिए। इनमें सामान्यतः लाल रंग का prohibition symbol होता है। उदाहरण: No Smoking, Do Not Touch आदि।
Warning Signs
Warning Signs किसी संभावित खतरे के बारे में चेतावनी देते हैं। Electrical area में Electric Shock Hazard जैसे warning signs लगाए जा सकते हैं।
Mandatory Signs
Mandatory Signs बताते हैं कि कौन सा safety action करना जरूरी है। उदाहरण: Wear Safety Helmet, Wear Safety Shoes और Use Protective Equipment।
Safe Condition Signs
ये signs emergency exit, first aid point और अन्य safe facilities की जानकारी देने के लिए उपयोग किए जाते हैं।
3. Electrical Work करते समय Safety Precautions
Electrician को electrical installation पर काम करते समय नीचे दिए गए safety precautions का पालन करना चाहिए।
- Electrical work शुरू करने से पहले supply को OFF और properly isolate करें।
- Circuit dead है या नहीं, suitable tester या approved measuring instrument से check करें।
- काम करते समय insulated tools जैसे insulated screwdriver और insulated plier का उपयोग करें।
- उचित condition में rubber insulating mat और suitable PPE का उपयोग करें।
- गीले हाथों से electrical switch, equipment या wiring को touch न करें।
- Damaged insulation, loose connection और exposed conductor पर काम न करें।
- Electrical panel और machines के आसपास पानी या नमी जमा न होने दें।
- Fuse या protective device को गलत rating के wire से replace न करें।
- Overloaded socket, extension board और electrical circuit का उपयोग न करें।
- Electrical equipment पर काम करने से पहले manufacturer और workplace safety instructions का पालन करें।
4. Personal Protective Equipment यानी PPE
Electrical work में PPE यानी Personal Protective Equipment का उपयोग worker को electrical और physical hazards से बचाने के लिए किया जाता है।
Safety Helmet
सिर को falling objects और अन्य workplace hazards से protection देने के लिए।
Safety Shoes
पैरों की सुरक्षा और workplace hazards से protection के लिए suitable safety footwear का उपयोग किया जाता है।
Insulating Gloves
Electrical work के लिए appropriate voltage-rated insulating gloves का उपयोग किया जाता है।
Safety Goggles
Electrical work, drilling या अन्य operations में आंखों को चोट और flying particles से बचाने के लिए।
5. Electric Shock क्या है?
जब electric current किसी व्यक्ति के शरीर से होकर गुजरता है, तो इसे Electric Shock कहते हैं। Shock की severity current, voltage, शरीर से current के path, contact time और environment जैसी conditions पर depend करती है।
Electric shock के कारण muscle contraction, burns, breathing problems और गंभीर injury हो सकती है। इसलिए electrical accident में सबसे पहले अपनी safety सुनिश्चित करना जरूरी है।
6. Electric Shock लगने पर First Aid
अगर किसी व्यक्ति को electric shock लगा है, तो सबसे पहले rescuer को खुद की safety का ध्यान रखना चाहिए। यदि सुरक्षित हो तो electrical supply को main switch, isolator या suitable disconnecting device से बंद करें।
- Victim को सीधे bare hands से तब तक न छुएं जब तक electrical source safely isolated न हो।
- यदि supply safely isolate नहीं हो सकती, तो emergency procedure और appropriate rescue equipment का उपयोग करें।
- Electrical supply isolate होने के बाद emergency medical help के लिए तुरंत सहायता लें।
- Victim की breathing और responsiveness check करें।
- यदि व्यक्ति सांस नहीं ले रहा है या normal breathing नहीं है, तो trained person को CPR शुरू करनी चाहिए और emergency medical assistance लेनी चाहिए।
- यदि व्यक्ति सांस ले रहा है लेकिन unconscious है, तो उसे सुरक्षित स्थिति में रखें और medical help का इंतजार करें।
पुराने ITI notes में artificial respiration के लिए Schaefer’s Method और Silvester’s Method का उल्लेख मिल सकता है। Modern first-aid practice में CPR और current emergency resuscitation guidelines को प्राथमिकता दी जाती है।
7. Earthing क्या है?
Earthing electrical installation की एक important safety व्यवस्था है। इसमें electrical equipment की exposed conductive metal body को earth से electrically connect किया जाता है ताकि fault current के लिए low-resistance path उपलब्ध हो सके।
Proper Earthing electric shock के risk को कम करने और protective devices को fault condition में operate करने में मदद करती है।

9. Overhead Lines के पास Safety Precautions
Overhead electrical lines के पास काम करते समय electric shock और electrical flashover का खतरा हो सकता है। इसलिए safe distance maintain करना बहुत जरूरी है।
- Overhead line को हमेशा energized मानकर सावधानी से काम करें।
- Line के पास ladder, crane, metal pipe या long conducting object को बिना proper safety procedure के न ले जाएं।
- Maintenance या repair work के लिए proper isolation और authorization सुनिश्चित करें।
- निर्धारित safety clearance और workplace regulations का पालन करें।
10. Electrical Fire से Safety
Electrical fire में गलत प्रकार के fire extinguisher का उपयोग खतरनाक हो सकता है। Energized electrical equipment पर पानी का उपयोग नहीं करना चाहिए।
- यदि सुरक्षित हो तो electrical supply को isolate करें।
- Electrical fire के लिए suitable fire extinguisher का उपयोग करें।
